I am an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) at the Amsterdam School of Economics, University of Amsterdam, a Research Affiliate at the Dutch Institute for Emergent Phenomena, at CESifo and a Research Fellow at the Tinbergen Institute. I am also affiliated to the Baffi CAREFIN Centre at Bocconi University.

My main research interests include Political Economy, Public Economics, and Quantitative Economic History, with particular focus on issues related to taxation, regional development and public corruption.
